Unique Web-based Learning System with Online Live Tutoring Recognized for 2nd Consecutive Year

Think Through Learning announced today that Think Through Math (TTM), their web-based instruction system for grades 3 and above, has been named a winner in the 22nd Annual Best Educational Software (BESSIE) Awards. Think Through Math won “Best Online Math Learning System” across multiple grades. Think Through Math previously was recognized in this category in 2015 and 2010. The program was additionally recognized this year in the Teacher Tools category as “Best Classroom Management/Math Website”.

Presented by the ComputED Gazette, the BESSIE Awards target innovative and content-rich programs and websites that provide parents and teachers with the technology to foster educational excellence. Contenders for this award are evaluated based on academic content, technical merit, subject approach, and management system. Winners are selected from entries submitted by publishers worldwide.

Think Through Math’s adaptive learning solution focuses on the higher order thinking and problem-solving skills required for success on the more rigorous standards and assessments being implemented across the country. The program integrates the Quantile® Framework from MetaMetrics® to accurately measure student math proficiency and track progress throughout the year. Think Through Math personalizes the instruction for each student based on their specific performance and incorporates the unique aspect of offering struggling students live one-to-one support from bi-lingual certified math teachers from directly within a lesson – before during and after the school day.

“We are delighted to have Think Through Math recognized by the BESSIE judges for educational excellence for the second consecutive year,” commented Kevin McAliley, CEO of Think Through Learning. “Our top priority is the ensuring that our program delivers measurable, sustainable improvements in student achievement, while still being intuitive for educators and engaging for students. Winning the BESSIE Award is wonderful validation that we are achieving our company’s mission.”

In addition to being a 2016 BESSIE Award winner, Think Through Math has also been recognized during the past year with the 2015 Tech & Learning Awards of Excellence, 2015 District Administration Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products, 2015 EDDIE Award: Best Multi-level Online Math Learning System and is currently a finalist for the 2016 SIIA CODiE Award for Best Math Instructional Solution.

With nearly three million students in more than 180,000 classrooms across the country, TTM is the fastest growing supplemental math program in the U.S. With customized versions for each state’s learning standards, Think Through Math’s lessons include a wide variety of interactive item types, ensuring students are well-prepared for the more sophisticated question types being used on state-level assessments. TTM’s unique intrinsic and extrinsic motivational features increase engagement and build self-esteem so students increase their time on task. Think Through Math has received numerous awards since its introduction and is expanding rapidly across the US.
