Kelli Campbell Wins Silver Stevie Award for Woman of the Year in Business Services Industries

Acceleration Academies is proud to announce that Chief Executive Officer Kelli Campbell has been named a 2025 American Business Awards Silver Stevie award winner for Woman of the Year in Business Services Industries. This honor highlights Campbell’s leadership and impact in the field of education.

The Stevie Awards, widely recognized as the world’s premier business awards, honor outstanding performances in the workplace worldwide.

In November 2023, Acceleration Academies named Campbell as the new CEO. For 17 years, she held several executive positions at Discovery Education, one of the most highly respected companies in education.

As a first-generation high school and college graduate, Campbell has combined her professional experience at the top of a global education company with her personal experiences. Because of her upbringing, she has been able to connect with Acceleration Academies students — also known as “graduation candidates” — across the country in authentic ways.

Since joining Acceleration Academies, Campbell has led the organization through a period of growth and expanded impact. Under her leadership, student enrollment has grown by 30 percent, with more than 6,500 students re-engaged on their path to a high school diploma across 20 academies in six states.

In her first year as CEO, Campbell has:

  • Expanded operations into new geographic markets in Florida and Georgia.

  • Opened new academies serving formerly incarcerated youth and students with behavioral challenges.

  • Secured $15 million in funding for partner school districts by recovering disengaged students.

  • Led the company through a successful funding round with a leading impact investment firm.

Acceleration Academies partners directly with school districts to help high school students earn their diploma by offering a tuition-free, Cognia-accredited program. The company’s unique model provides in-person support and a web-based curriculum, flexible scheduling, personalized learning plans and career and life coaching for students who need something different from a traditional full-day school.

“The students we serve are some of the most resilient and capable young people in the country,” Campbell said. “This award is not just a personal honor — it’s a recognition of the team at Acceleration Academies and the incredible graduation candidates who inspire us every day.”
