In a recent episode of the THRIVEinEDU podcast, hosted by Dr. Rachelle Dené Poth, Kelli Campbell, Acceleration Academies chief executive officer, shared insights into her mission to re-engage at-risk and disengaged students through innovative educational models.


Campbell, who assumed her role as CEO in 2023, brings more than 25 years of experience in educational technology, including a 17-year tenure at Discovery Education. Under her leadership, Acceleration Academies has expanded its reach, launching new academy locations and forming strategic partnerships with school districts nationwide. The organization focuses on providing flexible, student-centered learning environments tailored to meet the needs of students who struggle in traditional high school settings. 


During the podcast, Campbell emphasized the importance of personalized support, investment in technology and curriculum development to ensure student success. She also highlighted the significance of educator training in adapting to non-traditional teaching methods. As a first-generation high school graduate herself, Campbell’s vision is to offer students a second chance at earning their high school diplomas, thereby opening doors to brighter futures.
