K2 Integrity, a New York-headquartered financial crimes and risk advisory firm, has launched an internal audit practice.

The new practice will serve the firm’s full roster of clients, including financial institutions, fintech and virtual assets firms, investment managers, nonprofits, governments, and Fortune 500s.

The internal audit practice draws on K2’s background in verification and assurance and its deep bench of accounting and finance professionals, including former audit and SOX executives, regulators, compliance officers, and chief financial officers.

“With so many shifting goalposts, including recent updates to the IIA’s Global Internal Audit Standards, it can be difficult for our clients’ internal audit functions to take the time to assess the impact of these changes and revise their policies and procedures accordingly,” said Jennifer Law, chief operating officer. “We work hand in hand with our clients’ IA functions to help them stay on top of audit challenges and ahead of the new regulations in a way that aligns with their strategy and takes into account their specific risk profile.”

K2’s internal audit practice has offerings in internal audit co-sourcing, SOX compliance, internal controls, IPO and M&A readiness, financial and technical accounting advisory services, IT internal audit and SOX advisory services, and fraud assessment and remediation, among other areas.

Founded in 2009, K2 has practices in strategic advisory, financial crimes compliance, investigations and disputes, cyber risk management, crypto and digital asset solutions, and national security. The firm has more 300 employees across 10 offices in the US, UK, Switzerland, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
