CSA Medical, Inc., the leading provider of truFreeze® advanced spray cryotherapy technology that flash freezes unwanted tissues inside the body, received the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) ICE Award for Corporate Excellence. The awards program recognized outstanding businesses and individuals from TEDCO’s diverse portfolio of more than 300 seed and early-stage companies. CSA Medical was recognized specifically for its growth in employees and revenue, community involvement, and industry recognition. In the past year, the company expanded its headquarter office in Lutherville, Maryland, as well as its product development facility located in Lexington, Massachusetts. CSA Medical closed a $16 million Series C financing in December 2013.

“We are honored to receive this award and appreciate the support that TEDCO has provided to help enable CSA Medical’s growth and development,” said Bill Floyd, Chief Executive Officer and President of CSA Medical. “This recognition comes at an exciting time as we transition from a startup into an emerging growth company and focus on bringing the powerful benefits of truFreeze to more patients.”

The truFreeze System is currently being used by physicians to ablate a variety of unwanted tissue inside the body. The device delivers extremely cold liquid nitrogen spray through a small catheter to enable physicians to flash-freeze targeted tissue. This process has been shown to destroy the frozen cells without disturbing the underlying connective tissue, thereby providing a framework for healthy cells to regenerate over time.

About CSA Medical

The Company is the first to harness the power of low pressure, extremely cold (-196 o C) liquid nitrogen inside the body. To learn more, please visit www.csamedical.com.
