Dozens of at-risk students, who might not have graduated, will be receiving their diplomas at a special graduation on Wednesday.
34 students from Marion County Acceleration Academies will be getting their high school diplomas.
The ceremony is meaningful for students who previously struggled in traditional schools but found the academic and personal support they needed to earn their high school diplomas.
“It is very exciting; it is so rewarding for us. I think as a team that is the best part about what we do and especially because we have prided ourselves in building repour and establishing relationships with these students and so a lot of times we understand where they are coming from you know the challenges and barriers they have met and have dealt with to get to this point” Dr. Keyana Lyde, Academy director said.
The special ceremony will begin at 1 p.m. and will go until 2 p.m.
